Yao, Jinli ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Campos, Nauro Ferreira (referee) ; Semerák, Vilém (referee)
The main aim of this paper is to study whether the inward FDI will optimize and upgrade of industrial structure in Central and East European EU countries. If yes, which industry's inward FDI has a better effect on industrial structure optimization and upgrading? I established the influence mechanism as the analysis framework of the whole paper. Then I gathered a dataset of 11 CEE EU countries from 2000 to 2019 and established the industrial structure upgrading index and rationalization index. The empirical results showed that IFDI will optimize industrial structure in the short term and will upgrade industrial structure in the long term. IFDI from the secondary industry has the best effect on industrial structure optimization and upgrading. Therefore, this paper suggests that CEE EU countries introduce FDI, and emphasizes that they had better cooperate with foreign capital that helpful for the high-end development of the manufacturing industry in CEE EU countries. At the same time, they should promote the development of their own organization and management in order to absorb high technology and achieve technological catch-up.

Blažková, Karolína ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Klimeš, David (referee)
The bachelor thesis aims to map the debate on the repolonization or deconcentration of the media in Poland after the 2015 elections when the Law and Justice party won. First, the thesis provides a basic overview of the Polish media market and its development after 1989, which is crucial for the entry of foreign investors. It also summarizes the developments surrounding the ruling party's efforts to push through two laws that could transform the ownership structure of the media, namely a law introducing a new tax on advertising and an amendment to the Broadcasting Act. These two bills were, according to experts, intended to fulfil the ruling Law and Justice Party's vision of repolonizing or deconcentrating the media. The paper then compares the amendment to the Broadcasting Act, which was intended to directly restrict foreign owners of audiovisual media in Poland, with existing legislation in other European countries such as France and Hungary. One of the chapters is devoted to the analysis of foreign capital in the Polish media market. The thesis does not omit the key event that is often referred to as 'repolonization in practice', i.e. the purchase of the regional media network Polska Press through the state-owned petrochemical company PKN Orlen. Polish politicians, journalists and media experts...

The current era of intensive globalisation, digitisation and expansion of FinTech companies and latter the impacts of a recent global financial crisis support further concentration processes within the banking sector. This dissertation thesis explores the impacts of global financial crisis on the European banking centres on the level of major banking centres and tiny banking centres with special regard on the development in three main European macroregions - Western Europe, Southern Europe and Central and Eastern Europe. The banking centres were analysed according financial indicators of banks headquartered in particular banking centre in the indicators capturing size, profitability and the level of risk during the period 2004-2015. Counterintuitively, the European leading banking centres (London, Paris and Frankfurt), despite their extensive exposure to capital markets, dispay a high level of resilience, which contrasts with the evolution of the other major Western European centres, which clearly lagged behind the European leaders. From a macro-regional perspective, banking centres in Western Europe exhibited the first signals of both the crisis and the recovery, which were subsequently diffused across Europe. Surprisingly, the profitability of low-ranking banking centres in Central and Eastern...
